This short novel is a great satire of Donald Trump's and Vladimir Putin's outlooks on governing and the world. Mr. Rond creates a sort of inverse-world where the character of Donald Trump is exactly the opposite of everything he is in real life - i.e. sensitive rather than cold-hearted, quiet rather than brash, careful with his words rather than coarse and unfiltered - although his policy solutions are just as disastrous as in real life (like putting everyone in detainment camps to "rehabilitate" them and work on that wall!). With Putin, the satire is more straight-forward but darker (and equally funny), such as these words:“When Lydia [Putin's ex-wife] died, I couldn’t
believe it. It was so sudden. She died of a heart attack, totally out of the blue, right in the
middle of election season. Some journalists thought that’s what got me elected and
endeared me to female voters, but that never made sense to me because those journalists
are missing now.”
All in all it's a great read. Just remember to keep your mind open and be aware of the different kinds of satire employed - and marvel at the Great, H-uge, Big League meeting of the hearts and minds of Donald Trump and Putin!

Mr. Trump Meets Mr. Putin is perfect for those who enjoy a quick read and have a sense of humor. Trump's admiration for Putin is confusing to many, but this story makes sense of their (b)romance. Buy it. Read it. Love it.
Mr. Trump Meets Mr. Putin is part biting political satire, part absurd dystopian future, and completely funny. It even has suspense, in the way that only a classic ‘will they, won’t they’ story can. At points, I was captured by the descriptions of their tender love, laughing out loud at the absurdity of some scenes, and in the end, slapped across the face with a dose of cold hard reality. Definitely worth a read!
Here is a simple test for whether you will like this story Are you an educated, informed citizen who enjoys insight and appreciates tasteful, topical humor? And have you heard of Donald Trump? If yes, congratulations! MTMMP is for you!
This story has everything intrigue, deception, Spud Webb, love in the unlikeliest of places, death and dismemberment, Spud Webb, and squirrel suits. Besides, you get to see a side of Donald--and Vlad--that you would never have imagined. What more could you ask for in a romance novella?
I'll tell you--intelligence. I couldn't help but mouthing to myself, as I "turned" yet another digital "page," "Mmm, that's good satire." And boy, was it!
I conclude Read this story. You will get a kick in your , a wick for your candle, and a light at the end of this crazy election tunnel.
This is brilliant and timely satire. The caricatures of Donald and Vlad are ridiculous and hilarious. Rond pokes fun at Vlad's notorious machismo and autocracy, while painting Donald as tender, timid, and thoughtful. This latter portrayal directly contrasts with reasonable public opinion and (the real) Donald's known predilections of course—that's the point—but I also found it oddly humanizing. It made me wonder how the real life Donald sees himself. If perhaps his inner monologue isn't so far from Rond's imaginings here.
The romance novel is clever throughout and left me smiling frequently and even laughing out loud. Interspersing delicate details with the patently absurd, the plot really picks up in the second half. You get sucked into the Donald/Vlad romance only to snap back to reality with a witty one liner—subtle yet pointed reminders that never let you forget for long these men's inner character. The denouement is genuinely touching, as Donald reflects on the story's happenings, before it all wraps up with what was probably my favorite paragraph of the book (I'll leave you in suspense).
In this crazy election buildup, it seems like the Trump coverage never ends, and as a result it has all become redundant and monotonous. Every new profile on how the GOP is reaping what it sewed, or about how Trump voters think, etc. all start to feel the same. Mr. Trump Meets Mr. Putin is anything but. It's a light read but one that pays a big reward for the short investment of time!

I accidentally bought the e-book on , but I can't say I regret that. It reads like a nonfiction; I had to remind myself every few pages that none of this had ever happened. At least not yet.
